Abstract

Cooperative learning refers to students who work together in team. Cooperative learning can reduce learner’s anxiety promote between teacher and student relationship, it can stimulate students self-confidence. In cooperative learning, the development of interpersonal skills is as important as the learning itself. The development of social skills in group work is a key to high quality group work. This paper conducted the study of feasibility and effectiveness of the application of model cooperative learning by using the pictures in teaching Vocabulary Building. During conducting the research, the students were divided into two classes, the first was experiment class and the second was control class. All the results from the finding experiment that model cooperative learning by using the pictures in teaching Vocabulary Building can improve learner’s communicative competence significantly and this model is very effective in English Vocabulary classes in this study.
