TALKSHOW BROADCAST PRODUCTION STRATEGY IN INCREASING THE EXISTENCE OF BENPAS RADIO
Abstract
One of the challenges faced by radio is media competition. Competition between fellow radio stations, with television media, or with social media. Similar challenges are also often experienced by one of the radio stations in the city of Subang, West Java, namely Radio Benteng Pancasila Subang or Benpas, which competes with the progress of the times and tries to keep up in order to remain in existence through various methods, one of which is by improving the quality of its programs such as talk show broadcast. The purpose of this thesis is to answer 2 main questions, namely: (1) To find out the production strategy in Talk Show broadcasts on Radio Benpas in increasing its existence, which include arranging talk show programs to always be in line with current developments, improving program quality and team performance, controlling production materials for talk show broadcasts. (2) To find out what are the inhibiting factors in the production of Talk Show broadcasts and how to overcome these obstacles, such as the busyness of the crew, especially the anouncer, and the absence of the resource person. To achieve this goal, this thesis uses qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation.
The results of the research conducted in general can be concluded firstly, the production strategy for Talk Show broadcasts in maintaining their existence is by arranging the program to always be in accordance with current developments, improving program quality and team performance, as well as controlling talk show broadcast material. Second, the inhibiting factors in production and how to resolve them, namely, firstly, the busyness of the crew and how to complete it by rescheduling, secondly, the absence of the announcer and how to complete it by filling it in with another publisher who is also competent, thirdly, the absence of the resource person and how to handle it, namely by being attended by another resource person according to the agreement of the relevant sources.
