Author Guidelines

MESA Journal publishes original research articles and reviews in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, and Architecture. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Articles can be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

  1. Submission Requirements

    • Submit manuscripts in MS Word format (.doc or .docx).

    • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font size, 1.15 line spacing, margin 2.5 cm (all sides).

    • Length: 8–15 pages, including tables and figures.

  2. Manuscript Structure

    • Title (Bahasa + English)

    • Author names and affiliations

    • Abstract (max. 200 words) + Keywords (3–5)

    • Introduction

    • Methods

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusion and Recommendations

    • Acknowledgements (optional)

    • References (IEEE or APA format)

  3. Plagiarism Policy
    • Manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software. The similarity index must be under 20%.
  4. Peer Review Process
    • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers. The editorial decision is final and based on reviewer feedback.
  5. Publication Fee
    • MESA Journal currently charges no submission or publication fee (free of charge).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Authors who publish with the MESA Journal agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license that allows others to share and adapt the work with appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the source.

  • Authors are permitted to distribute their published article (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or personal website) with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

  • The journal allows and encourages authors to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process to increase visibility and citation impact.
